makchic x Kids Nation – What if? Storytelling session
#ICYMI: makchic released our first children’s book, “What if?” late last year – and if you haven’t got yourselves a copy yet, come on over to our storytelling session, happening at Kids Nation on 27th February 2022 at 3pm, for a sneak peek! Take a walk through important issues of consent, body boundaries and personal safety with the book’s authors, Kimberly Lee and Liyana Taff, in this fun and interactive session that will benefit both kids as well as their parents – and follow this up with an epic day of adventure at Kids Nation’s indoor playground!

Pasar Seloka – The Happy Market

Minimagicmessyplay has an exciting host of activities planned this month, with magic messy play sessions scheduled for every week including:

Nature Play programme: All About Butterflies
Calling all nature lovers! Take advantage of this amazing Nature Play Programme organised by the madabouteducation group on Saturday, 12th February 2022. Under the theme “All About Butterflies”, your little ones will be hiking up this easy trail to a beautiful spring to search for butterflies, and spotting a couple of caterpillars and their pupa along the way. This time, participants will be going into the Kota Damansara Community Forest, where they will learn about the characteristics of butterflies and as well as their life cycles.

PKK Tuanku Bainun – Monologue Competition
PKK Tuanku Bainun is organising a Monologue Competition on Sunday, 20th February 2022 and auditions are open for 13 to 17 year olds, The first ever Monologue competition, comes with a one – day workshop to better prep the finalists before the day of competition.
Finalists will get a chance to learn from experts in the industry to sharpen their acting skills –Â and final submissions for auditions (via video submission) is on Thursday, 10th February 2022. Shortlisted participants will be performing two monologues in front of a select panel of judges to stand a chance to win cash of up to RM500!
Competition Breakdown
Audition (submission date is Thursday, 10th February, 2022) – submit an audition video (max length of 2 mins) re-enacting a monologue scene from any drama/ film of your choosing in your own style.
Shortlist Announcement (Saturday, 12th February 2022) – shortlisted participants will be contacted. Along with the monologue used for your audition, you will be required to choose one additional monologue from our list to practise and perform during competition day
Workshop (Saturday, 19th February 2022)– a full day event, all shortlisted participants are required to attend the Monologue Workshop at PKK Tuanku Bainun. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the art of monologue performance by three experienced theatre coaches during the workshop.
Compete (Sunday, 20th February 2022) – participants will perform TWO monologues. One, the monologue from your audition and another the monologue from the list given.

thestorybooklives: Beauty and the Beast
Tale as old time…true as it can be..
What better way to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s, if not with one of the most beloved Disney classics. Storybooklives brings the magical characters of Belle and Beast to life in two sessions at two separate venues. One session will be held at The Commune, Level 5, Sunway Velocity Mall on Sunday, 13th February and the second at the STORYBOOK on Saturday, 19th February 2022. Both sessions will be in the morning, and space is limited to a maximum of eight families only (30 pax).
