Singapore: A Kid-Friendly Travel Guide for Your Next Family Holiday

Singapore is our spotlight here! Our neighbouring island has some extremely family-friendly attractions which the kids will be thrilled about. Besides the usual popular classics such as  Universal Studios, Singapore Zoo and the S.E.A. Aquarium, we’ve highlighted some other places you might consider. From waterparks to museums, to indoor play areas (perfect for beating the heat), check out our handy guide! We also have a  list of places with family-friendly packages and rooms you could consider.


Where to Go 

1. Harry Potter: Visions of Magic

Running until March 2025, come experience a self-guided journey through some of the most mysterious corners of the wizarding world. Discover ten immersive environments, each filled with stunning multimedia installations, responsive video content and original soundscapes.

2. Sentosa Sensoryscape

For an enchanting night experience, watch how this calming place transforms into the ImagiNite experience. Immerse yourself in the various sensory gardens like Symphony Streams enchanting underwater world, interactive projections at Palate Playground, dancing light beams at Lookout Loop, glowing giant flower stalks at Glow Garden and more. Don’t forget to download the ImagiNite App and witness the light shows and projections come to life!

3. Disney Garden of Wonder at Floral Fantasy

Attention Disney lovers! Gardens by the Bay is currently filled with stunning topiaries of your favorite Disney characters. Be on the lookout for Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Snow White and Ariel, as well as the iconic Mickey and Minnie Mouse. These beloved figures and many more have been brought to life as intricate plant and flower sculptures at the ongoing Garden of Wonder exhibit at Floral Fantasy.

4. Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore’s Minion Land opens on 14th February 2025! Experience a three-part adventure with Gru’s lab ride, the Minion dance party carousel, and Silly Swirly, offering sky-high views. Hungry? Grab a bite at the Super Hungry Food Stand. Don’t forget to pick up exclusive merch at Sweet Surrender, Pop Store and Fun Store before you leave.

5. Mandai Boardwalk

Mandai Boardwalk is a scenic 3.3-kilometer-long boardwalk skirting the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo. It offers visitors unparalleled views across the Upper Seletar Reservoir and an opportunity to immerse in nature while enjoying stunning views of the surrounding wildlife reserves.

6. Disney Cruise Line

7. Keppel Centre for Art Education, National Gallery Singapore

The gallery was re-opened in 2024 after a revamp and offers 7 new interactive learning zones, which are built around the theme of Art and Wonder. It’s an ideal space for families to explore, imagine, play and create together – and it’s completely free! Get your kids to let their imagination soar, as they try their hand at creating 3D-printed sculptures here.

8. Canopy Park at Jewel Changi

Located at Level 5 of Jewel at Changi Airport, this is an ideal space for both kids and the young at heart. Find your way out of a maze, work up a sweat on bouncing nets, or opt for something milder and take a stroll along creative garden trails or glide down giant slides!

Hours: 10.00am to 10.00pm (Mondays to Thursdays); 10.00am to 11.00pm (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)

9. Far East Organization Children’s Garden at Gardens by the Bay

Designed for kids aged 6 to 12 years old, don’t miss this spot for some free waterplay action. Kids will have a splashing good time here and do keep a look out for the towering ‘orchids’ that dump buckets of water below!

10. Changi Jurassic Mile

Young kids will be in awe at the display of life-sized dinosaurs here, standing at almost 5 metres high! Easily accessible from Changi Airport, this is Singapore’s largest permanent outdoor display of these creatures. Check out over 20 different prehistoric creatures from 9 different species, stretched over a 1-kilometre cycling and jogging path.

11. Hay Dairies Goat Farm

Little animal lovers will love this brush with nature! Watch the farmers milking the goats, and get up close and friendly while feeding these cuties. End your trip with icy cold goat’s milk, or a popsicle stick fresh from the farm.

12. National Gallery Singapore

We parents love museums for their ability to foster learning through real artifacts, dioramas and interactive exhibitions. The National Gallery of Singapore occupies 2 national monuments and is worth the visit for the building it is housed in alone!

13. Art Science Museum

Don’t miss this incredible museum as well – with its focus on art, science, and technology. Immerse yourself in a world of light, magic and metaphor through a collection of digital interactive installations. The kids (and adults) will have a blast at this all-time favourite permanent exhibition, also dubbed as “Singapore’s favourite digital playground”.

14. Hansel & Gretel-themed Playground

Singapore is home to an extensive range of playgrounds, situated both outdoors and indoors. Visit this lesser-known whimsical playground for some candylicious fun. The equipment designs combine modern architecture with kid-friendly activities, including lollipop trees, a gingerbread house, and cute little mushroom stools to hop across.

15. Gardens by the Bay

A nature park spanning 101 hectares, this will take days to explore and tour at a leisurely pace! Get ready for lots of walking, as you visit the cloud forest, kingfisher wetlands, flower dome and countless gardens. Rest those tired legs in the evening by sitting back beneath the supertrees at Garden Rhapsody, and be dazzled by their signature light and music show.

16. Skyline Luge at Sentosa

For many of us, Sentosa Island brings back good old memories of giggles and fun. Create new memories by bringing the kids on an exhilarating gravity-driven ride (don’t worry, you’re in full control of your speed!), through tunnels, corners and slopes. Choose from four different tracks as you meander your way through a mystical forest that lights up post-sunset.

Rainforest Wild Asia

Singapore will welcome its fifth zoological park at Mandai Wildlife Reserve in March 2025.

A great brunch spot – and the fact that you can also catch a glimpse of the sea is an added bonus! They also have an open area with some old school swings for the little ones, who can get restless.

2. Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari

This rustic-themed cafe is situated in the heart of a tropical garden, next to a lawn and outdoor playground (bunnies and chicken can be found here). 5. Cafe Melba 

Are the kids always bouncing off the walls? We feel you! This is the perfect cafe for them to work up an appetite (and channel their energy). Situated next to a sprawling lawn and a bouncy castle, parents can enjoy their delicious Melbourne-inspired food as the kids run about. Do also pop by The Artground for a calmer interactive visual arts experience, post-meal.
