Meow Little Lion: The Coolest New Book for Kids

Does your child need to be put to bed with a bedtime story every night? If you’re sick of reading the same thing, we’ve found a new book to add to your bedside table library.

Meow Little Lion is a story of courage and friendship of a brave kitten named Little Lion. This children’s book is published by MidniteMoonMob, a homegrown company started by Azlene Azlan. What started as a creative outlet back in 2011 soon grew to be something bigger which eventually led Azlene, an Art Director in the publishing industry to pursue MidniteMoonMob on a full-time basis. She co-wrote Meow Little Lion with Rustum Scammell and illustrated the pictures in the book.

Meow Little Lion is very close to her heart as it is the true story of how she met her cat. “Meow Little Lion is the story of a brave kitten that was abandoned, rescued and the friend she made along the way. Everyone loved her. She was quite the character. Unfortunately, we lost her when the book was halfway done. It made sense to dedicate it to her”.

The book is perfect for a short bedtime story. Azlene’s beautiful hand painted illustrations jump out of the page with its fine detail and colours. The pictures are accompanied by easy-to-read text, which is great for early readers if you would like to read with your child.

Meow Little Lion is the first installment of an all animal series called Tales of the Untamed Metropolis. Their new book, The Carrot Thief is set to release this October. Books from MidniteMoonMob are “written from the heart”. “Anyone who understands the love and laughter of having a close animal friend, will know what we are all about,” says Azlene.
