Animal-loving kids will be fascinated feeding wildlife at the park’s Deer Yard, Ostrich Farm, Bird Square, Peacock House, Duck Lagoon and 99 Wild Island. Pick up fish, bird and animal food at the ticket counter and hop on their 99 Train Rides and Madagascar Carousel Ride, as ostriches roam freely around. Don’t forget to take a family photo too, in front of the stunning 12 Chinese Zodiac sculptures and dynamic dinosaur display (don’t miss their two Tyrannosauruses, standing at a height of 3.5 meters)). If you can, try and stay until night time to catch the park’s magnificent 99 Musical Dancing Fountain show that’s sure to be a hit!

2. G2G Animal Garden

This petting zoo is a wonderland for those who would like to get up close and personal with different types of animals! More than 70 species of both local and exotic animals can be found here – plus, your kids can choose to snuggle up to the common kitties at the Cat House or hold some creepy crawlies at the Reptile House. When they would like to take a break from all the feeding and petting, head over to the Pony Station and have a little joy ride for a token fee of only RM5!

3. Kebun-Kebun Bangsar

Only a two-minute drive from Bangsar Village, and you’ll discover a green haven and wondrous community city farm. Explore this little gem, which houses geese, ducks and rabbits (not to mention a sheep and a cow!), as you soak in the stunning panoramic views of KL’s skyline at the hill top. Kids can hang out at the duck pond and adorable rabbit corner, where their hungry inhabitants are always happy for a treat! This nice pocket of countryside also has sprouting vegetables and fruits, which are donated to soup kitchens and the underprivileged.

4. The Acre by Farm Fresh @ UPM

A trendy, new farm experience that’s perfect for city folks who would like to escape into nature for the day! 6. Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands

Discover and experience the biodiversity found within our local wetlands, and participate in a range of activities that are suitable for everyone in the family. Choose to relax on a boat cruise, bird-watch, or go fishing as you learn all about the ecosystem there – or opt for something more adrenaline-inducing (such as seasonal hot air ballooning, jungle trekking for campers or horse riding). If you have children between 4 to 9 years old, check out the jungle school program running on Saturday and Sunday, where kids will be required to tap into their super-senses to hunt for the sneaky animals amidst the wetlands.

7. Escape Challenge Theme Park

Take up this exciting challenge and bring those active little feet to the only indoor adventure park in PJ! The Monkey School is filled with obstacles, including miniature installations and rope courses, to get your kids up and running. For kids who love the thrill of racing, try out the Zoom Bug to make hi-speed turns on the tracks with low three-wheeled bicycles. Parents are welcome to ride with them and join in the fun as well!

8. Blue Ice Skating Rink, 163 Retail Park

Escape the rainy season, and pretend it’s snowing outside by ice skating away indoors at 163 Retail Park in Mont Kiara. The rink may be smaller, but it is a perfect size for our small kiddies to learn and practice a new skill. Look out for their bright neon light signages on the walls to snap pictures, capturing precious memories with your family.

9. Kids Nation

Also located at 163 Retail Park, this colorful indoor soft play area that spans over three levels with slides, trampolines, webbing bridges, crawling tunnels and a ball pit that will thrill mini explorers for hours on end! 10. Beast Park

Let your kids unleash their inner beasts and conquer great heights at the 15-meter high indoor space in Jumpa, Sungei Wang. The Lil’ Beast Park has a mini-sized rope course, easy rock climbing walls guided by LED bulbs and fun caves to explore. The more daring kids over 120cm can try out the obstacle course at their Ninja Park and chill five floors up at the Beast Net. Weary parents can take rest with a well-deserved cuppa and some healthy snacks at their café, located in the midst of all the action.

11. Skytrex Sg Congkak, Hulu Langat

Adrenaline junkies will love embarking on an exhilarating jungle canopy and zipline outdoor adventure, set in the cool and hilly area of Hulu Langat. The River Thrill circuit will have kids climbing and flying high above the river rapids, amidst breaths of fresh forest air. This intermediate level requires participants to be at a minimum height of 110cm. Kids below 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

12. BookXcess,MyTOWN

Spend a quiet day with the kids curled up at BookXcess’ spectacular (and newly opened) bookstore in MyTOWN Shopping Center. Your little bookworms will enjoy the waterproof books displayed in a bathtub, hand-painted mouse characters on the walls, and a life-sized baby Elephant Parade statue. The contemporary space is filled with books of all genres, set within high shelves that line Zen-like stone pathways, and features a deck overlooking the scenic city skyline. After a day of good books, dine in at Umi Tei, the Japanese restaurant housed within the premises, or grab a coffee at Whisk Coffee Bar and Cakes (also located within the store). Make sure to check every corner, as there is a hidden art gallery and a piano for anyone who wishes to play a tune.

Wander through modern and contemporary art paintings and sculptures to awaken the creative minds of your little ones. Kids who are accompanied by a vaccinated adult can explore the gallery’s latest exhibition, Ilham Art Show, which is running from now until 23rd October 2022. Keep an eye out as well for the gallery’s fantastic llham Kids: Art Discovery Tours, which will hopefully resume again soon, with special tours to help tots cultivate a greater appreciation for the arts.

14. Royal Selangor Visitor Centre

Take the next generation on a tour to relive the history of Kuala Lumpur through Royal Selangor’s Heritage. Head to the Museum and learn about animal-shaped tin currency used back in the day, engage in interactive, educational exhibits at the Science Discovery Gallery, and watch pewter smiths in action at a live demonstration. The kids can even have a go at hammering and crafting their very own pewter dish at a School of Hard Knocks’ workshop! The 30 minute workshop is priced at RM75 and is suitable for all ages (children under 12 years old must be supervised by an accompanying adult).

15. Benns Ethicoa

Visit this bean-to-bar chocolate maker and museum that pays homage to the hard work of Asian farmers and has its roots in sustainability and quality. Learn the art of ethical and artisanal chocolate making by booking a guided 30 to 45 minute tour (available on Friday or Saturday, 10:30am at RM25 per pax (free for children below 7 years old)), as you delight your taste buds along the way with complimentary chocolate or cacao tea, and selected chocolate pastries or bon bons.
