This Season, GUESS Kids offers a wide variety of stylishly cute get-ups to keep your little tykes warms and toasty. Categorising their Fall/Winter ’13 collection into three sub-categories gives both parents and children (ages 0-16 years’ old) a broader range to select from:
Her Morning Romance – The Last Gentleman
Based on a romantic fairytale of a girl who dreams of being rescued by her Prince Charming, this collection holds a very romantic and elegant colour palette of pale pinks, cream, black and lacquered red. Apart from printed roses and exquisite dots featured on denim and in accessories, the collection also includes loose-fitting, flowing outfits that are embellished with pearls, lace and tulle. Accessories and coats in faux fur complete the chic glamorous style for the girls.
For the boys, this category offers pieces with character and confidence. Embellished with patches and prints, the colour palette ranges from bordeaux, navy blue, peacock green to caramel, with beige and cream in mélange tones. They also offer shirts with micro-prints, chino (instead of denim) and salt, and pepper two-piece outfits that give the kids a slight taste of edgy style.
Young Spirit-Run World
And here we have the continuation of the season – bringing back the denims. Laminé coatings, unusual washes, striking stud and embroidery appliqués give sprint and three-dimensionality to garments. Heavy knitwear comes in a variety of cuts and patterns and plays a big role in this category. The right mix of bold colours such as navy blue, washed indigo, cyclamen fuchsia and beige creates unusual check patterns, while coats with coloured fur interiors and matching accessories offer the whole rugged and casual looks. The boys have an additional twist though, when the orange, canyon earth, violet blue, optical white and mélange grey colours are perfectly combined. Accessories like bandannas, studded belts and camouflage capes complete the ‘wild’ style attire.
The Silence of The Snow
As the season progresses, we find ourselves at the end of the year. This collection comprises of cool blue, cream and ice and dark grey with shimmering details for girls and light blue, navy blue, washed black and red touches for boys.
Girls’ winter garments vary between warm knitwear and fluffy fabrics, which are embellished with glitter, lamé prints, sequins and crystal rhinestone appliqués. Collars are high and enveloping, and the intarsia knitwear stays heavy for boys. For boys, there are multi-pocket trousers and sheepskin coats to create a stylish yet practical look.
