Inspired by his own childhood memories, British photographer James Mollison set out to capture the similarities and differences in playgrounds across the world for his new book, Playground. Over the past five years, he visited 59 schools, ranging from the US to Kenya, from Norway to Bolivia. Play remains the same, but Mollison says playgrounds vary by location and circumstance. Some offered kids plenty of toys and lush green fields to play in, while others barely had the space to fit all the children.
