An all-natural bug repellent for babies that works with the skin’s own defense system to provide full protection plus hydration outdoors. Full of plant nectars and recommended by doctors and hospitals, this bug repellent is gentle and organic enough for everyday use. A big believer in letting her baby spend lots of time outdoors, Michelle Lim-Chua put the anti-critter lotion to the test.

Yay
- Smells better that other bug repellents (i.e. California Baby Natural Bug Blend Bug Repellent), and being a lotion instead of a spray; allows for a cleaner application.
- Although primarily for use against ants and other creepy crawlers outdoors, it also keeps pesky mosquitos in the house away too.
- When used on previous bites (even on adults!) the lotion soothes and eases itchiness almost entirely.
Nay
- The so-called “Jungle breeze” scent is pretty much the same you’d expect from a regular anti-bug spray, so use sparingly.
- Overloading the product accidentally can leave the baby’s skin sticky and greasy, and almost needs to be washed off after coming inside.
Bottom Line
If your child spends a lot of time playing outdoors, you should get your hands on this immediately. But if he’s more of an indoor baby and you are looking for something just to keep mosquitoes away at night, this product may be too strong for your liking (mainly because of its overpowering scent). You’re better off with Buds Mozzie Clear Lotion (get the Cherished Organics one), for bedtime use, as it is much lighter and is safe to use on your baby’s face.
