TOMS is now expanding its range of products to include a bag collection. Just like its shoes, eye wear and coffee, the brand will use its “One for One” program to benefit others. With the purchase of each bag, TOMS will help to train birth attendants as well as distribute birth kits to those in need in developing countries.
TOMS latest mission aims to address the fact that, annually, 40 million women give birth in unclean conditions and without the assistance of a trained attendant. With a plan to reach out to mothers in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Haiti and India, TOMS’ campaign aims to lower the infection rate in new mothers and prevent newborn deaths.
