1. Blossom Deepavali, Sunway Velocity Mall

2. 21st Deepavali Carnival 2023

The best place to do some Deepavali shopping as there will be countless booths offering the very best Indian accessories, traditional wear, footwear, cookies, Indian sweets, house decor, handicraft items and so much more.

3. Childhood Revisited, The klpac Symphonic Band

4. Food Ga(Lore) Book Tour, Kakiseni Junior

In collaboration with Kakiseni Junior, artist and writer Afi Sulaiman makes her last book tour stop this month here with two storytelling sessions, a workshop, book signing and a mini exhibition. Catch her in action! Get tickets here.

5. Bloom & Blossom Market, LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre

Take lots of Insta-worthy photos here, as the scene will be set with many giant floral inflatables measuring some five-metres high! 6. Nature Play Programme, Mad About Education

With the theme of the programme being Basic Survival Skills, expect kids to learn how to engage, explore and experiment with the different elements nature has to offer. They will learn some basic first aid skills as well as tips on how to navigate a map, all while exploring the lush Taman Saujana Hijau. Register here.

7. Serampai rumpai, UBI

Here’s your chance to learn and discover the vast world of wildflowers, herbs and medicinal plants with UBI (Urban Biodiversity Initiative) at the Rimba Ilmu Botanic Garden while you’re guided by experts. After that, you will be invited to take part in a flower pressing session and a journaling and illustrating activity with the wildflowers and herbs. Register here.

8. Art Bazaar, Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery

The bazaar aims to promote emerging local talents by showcasing their artworks. There will be an art exhibition, sale of artworks, discussions and talks on art, live demonstrations and more activities. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or seeking to be inspired by creative art pieces, do drop by! This year’s theme is: Well-being.

Kids and families will be encouraged to discuss artworks shown in conjunction with ILHAM Gallery KL’s latest exhibition – Nirmala Dutt: Statements. Kids will explore themes related to environmental issues, natural disasters, urban pollution and social injustice, particularly injustice affecting women and children while also learning about Artist’s Statements. There will be a hands-on activity at the end where each child will write out their own Artist’s Statement and create a simple collage on an issue of their choice that showcases this statement.

10. Hikayat Storytelling & Workshop, Kakiseni

In conjunction with World Children’s Day, Kakiseni is bringing this exciting workshop to Didik Alam (a community seeking sustainable living by learning, teaching and making) based in Janda Baik in Pahang! This is a great opportunity for parents to introduce their children to Malaysian traditional art through stories and hands-on activities.

14. UNICEF Young Leaders Showcase

This event is dedicated to addressing critical issues concerning children and youth, namely in aspects of education, mental health, climate change and child protection. Existing and inspiring youth advocates and also adults are highly encouraged to participate in the panel discussions and forums to support advocacy in making better policies for young people of Malaysia.

The event is led by UNICEF Malaysia Young Leaders and co-organised by UNICEF Malaysia, StudyHub Asia and Childline Foundation. Register by 10th November as seats are limited!
