At makchic, one of the main motivations for creating our children’s books, What if? and Bayangkanlah, was to spread awareness about child sexual abuse prevention. We are constantly looking for ways to get our book into the hands of as many families as possible. So when we first heard of Teleport Pink, we were elated.
Teleport Pink is a delivery service that allows us to deliver our books to Singapore and it promises to arrive the next day. Delivery is at a flat rate of RM40 (USD10) for a maximum weight of 5kg. The best part is that the parcel bag is reusable, allowing our Singaporean partners to send back the books if they are damaged or unsold (though we hope there never would be a need for this!)
We tried out Teleport Pink recently to send our books to Little Lit Kids, our stockist in Singapore.
As with any delivery, we bubble-wrapped the books to keep them secure, then popped them into the pink parcel bag provided.
For faster clearance at customs, riders will check the packages to ensure the contents are per the rules and regulations, so the packages should not be sealed at this point.A scan of the QR code brought us to a form to key in the delivery details. It was straightforward and simple. Â Although we did encounter a slight hiccup at this step, this was quickly settled by their helpful customer service team.Â
The rider picked up the package at the estimated time given. He gave the books a quick check, sealed the package, and off he went.
We received an email and SMS to confirm the order and were notified again when the item was picked up. A tracking number was also provided to check on the whereabouts of our package.
As (pinky) promised, our beloved books safely arrived in Singapore the next day!
Should our stockist need to send anything back to Malaysia, all they would need to do is peel the black sticker back to reveal another QR code and to repeat the steps thereafter.
As a small business owner, we love how convenient and affordable the service is. Â And more importantly, we’re excited at the opportunity to reach a wider market beyond our shores.
Teleport Pink parcel bags can be purchased for RM1 on their website, selected myNEWS outlets, partnered co-working spaces like Common Ground, WORQ and Co-labs and vending machines across key locations like Sunway Pyramid and Lot 10.Â
BONUS: In conjunction with the launch, all our makchic readers can use the code PINKFREE upon checkout to get your first delivery FREE! (Promo code expires 31st December 2022. Further terms and conditions are listed here.)
Teleport Pink will be rolled out in phases, starting with specific areas within Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, followed by a series of new destinations in 2023, which will include expansion of service coverage area into other parts of Kuala Lumpur as well as other key Southeast Asia destinations, such as Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila. We can’t wait!Â
