It’s time for another mum’s list of baby goods musts and skips! For this week’s list, we spoke to the baby and child sleep expert Sarah Ong, of Sleep Champ Baby to clue us in on her baby must-haves.
Most Used
- Snuggbaby Soft Structured Carrier: I started using this when my baby got too heavy for a ring sling. This one literally saved my sanity when we travelled in ferries, airplanes and went shopping.
- MAM Bottle: My first daughter preferred this bottle over any others that we introduced when she was a newborn, we just bought the same ones for my second daughter.
- Mothercare Thermometer: Used this at every single fever that came, up til today!
- MamyPoko Diapers: Super absorbent and great for that all nightsleep.
- Avent Sterilizer: This was a part of my daily day and night routine to sterilize bottles.
- Evenflo Car Seat: Got a child? Need to travel in the car with her? Use a car seat. Period.
- Spectra Breastpump: This brand is the one that I could afford but it served its purpose well.
- Pureen Baby Wipes: Not only we used this for wiping their bums during diaper change but it was a super must have in their diaper bag, in the car, when travel, in my handbag.
- IKEA Changing Station: Perfect for storage and the height is just nice for the frequent diaper change.
Didn’t Use Enough
- MAM Pacifier: We thought this would help her to sleep instead of using breastfeeding to sleep. Nope, she wouldn’t take it.
- Bumbo Seat: Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t even have bought it. Babies should not be put in a sitting position if they are not developmentally ready for it.
- Walker: This was given as a gift but it posed too much of risks on safety so we didn’t let our daughter use it much.
- Baby monitor: We ended up co-sleeping so we didn’t have the need for it.
