This Lunar New Year, IPC is introducing Five Element Monkeys, a family that consists of Papa Jinxu, Mama Tutti, Big Brother Höogan, Little Brother Muträ and Sister Shweedy. From 21 January to 21 February 2016, watch them in action and reminisce about the good times as they make an appearance at IPC’s Cherry Blossom Garden to prepare for a special Chinese New Year reunion.
The story of the Five Element Monkeys starts with a family of monkeys that come together in celebration of togetherness, spending time with each other during this auspicious season to share laughter and joy. Each monkey has their own unique personality that lead to a diverse number of fun and creative activities for shoppers to partake in.
The Five Element Monkeys don’t just act as symbols of Chinese New Year. “The Five Element Monkeys are also advocates for their respective element, speaking out on how each of their elements play a huge part in keeping the ecosystem healthy. The monkeys play a part by educating the shoppers about the benefits and ways of recycling. The theme aligns with IPC Shopping Centre’s value of sustainability. Six years ago, IPC introduced the Recycling & Buy-Back Centre and it has been a productive recycling hub ever since,” added Ms. Karyn Lim, IPC’s Marketing Manager.
Together with their new monkey friends, IPC hopes to create a family-friendly atmosphere that will please both adults and children. Take photos with the Five Element Monkeys and share it on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #IPCShoppingCentre and #IPCApeyNewYear to win 12 shopping vouchers worth RM100 each. Participants who take part can also collect a free mystery gift from IPC’s Customer Service at the Information Counter by showing their posting(s)! That’s not all, shoppers can take home an ‘Apey Bag of Good Fortune’ with purchase of RM800 in a single receipt or a combination of two receipts within the same transaction day. Each specially designed red felt bag comes with an exclusive IPC Calendar and an IKEA gift card worth RM10!
