Merdeka Day may be over but there’s still Malaysia Day to look forward to, and we have the perfect place to get you and your little one’s outfits sorted – Batika by Hudaa, a local online store selling the traditional batik with a modern twist.
Inspired by old photographs of her Indonesian mother donned in kebaya and batik kain kipas, founder Noorul-Hudaa Abdul-Rahman started sourcing batik, making her own apparel which eventually lead to a small business. Being a new mother of one to a 6-month baby girl, she realised there were no available batik clothing for children in Malaysia. That’s when she took matters into her own hands and Little Batika was born.
The new line launched recently during the festive Raya season but already has a wide range of adorable clothes for boys and girls ranging from newborns to 6 years old. Little Batika has items such as rompers, dresses, shirts all with beautiful batik prints. If you’re looking for more traditional options, there are baju kurung and baju Melayu to choose from.
The designs are bright and colourful, perfect for any festive occasion. Hudaa designs all the pieces herself and sticks to clean, simple and hassle-free designs, and keeping comfort in mind.
