Jane Bee’s List: Baby Goods Musts And Skips

Janes List

As a continuation of our series to find out which products mothers loved best and which they could do without, we spoke to Jane Bee, a passionate fashion designer and a stay-at-home mother to 8-month-old Kimberly. She shares her list of most and least used purchases with us:

Most Used

  1. Medela B-Well Steam Steriliser: A very quick and easy way to clean the milk bottles. This definitely helped me save a lot of time.
  2. Nursing covers: I made my own nursing covers as in general, I find nursing covers to be very useful. When I’m out and about with Kimberly they really come in handy.
  3. MamyPoko Diapers: I only tried three brands but I find this is easy wearing for hours and no rashes caused whatsoever.
  4. Mothercare Baby Bath Support: The fabric one seemed most ideal because the ones made of plastic feel a bit hard for the baby – depending on where you place the bassinet really.
  5. Lullaby songs: Baby songs and lullabies help my little one relax as after all, they are designed to put babies to sleep. Kimberly prefers English lullabies in particular, maybe it’s the calming tone that relaxes her.
  6. Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Car Seat: Really well made and secure.
  7. Travel changing mat: I travel a lot, so for me, these changing mats are great for portability and durability.
  8. Baby Vaseline: This is a very cheap and affordable product, and so far, has the best results in my opinion. I use it for a lot of things like insect bites and rashes.
  9. IKEA changing table: Affordable and sturdy.
  10. Stokke Bounce’N’Sleep: Easy to move around and she seems to be comfortable and snug in it.

Didn’t Use Enough

  1. Medela Breastpump: I’ve used it, but not often since I’m breastfeeding. I would say this is better for working mums.
  2. Red Castle Cocoonababy Nest: I used this for the first two months, after that, we found no use for it. It was good in the beginning because she wasn’t mobile much.
  3. Angel Mel Breastfeeding Pillow: I’ve tried it, but found it to be quite unnecessary really.
