Hamleys, famous for being the finest toy store in the world, has landed on our tropical shores. The company’s first flagship store will open its doors to the public in 1 Utama on 30 November, bringing with it some magical experiences and a lot of smiles to kids of all ages.
While the British iconic’s flagship store in London occupies seven floors, Malaysia’s first single-storey outlet will not fail to impress. Sprawled over 20,000 sq ft (about half a football field), it will carry arts and crafts, action toys, building toys, dolls, games, outdoor-related toys, educational toys, soft toys, as well as toy vehicles. The brands you can expect to see in-store are Hamleys’ own brand, Marvel, Hasbro (Star Wars, Transformers, Nerf, My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Baby Alive, Playskool, Play-Doh), Mattel (Hot Wheels, Max Steel, Monster High, Barbie, Fisher Price, Thomas & Friends), Disney Planes, Disney Princess, Mega Bloks, Sylvanian Families, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, LeapFrog, Tomica, Hornby, Upin & Ipin and more.
GRV Toy Store, Hamleys’ local partner in Malaysia, aims to open at least five Hamleys outlets in the next five years. “Every day is a magical day at Hamleys and we want to keep our customers excited with the various activities, competitions, character and showbiz visits,” said Kim Manaf, Director of GRV Toy Store, in a press release.

The Hamleys flagship store is located in Lot F319, 1st Floor, 1 Utama Shopping Mall, No 1, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Bandar Utama Damansara, 47800 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The opening time is 10am to 10pm daily. In conjunction with the opening of the Hamleys flagship store in Malaysia, the first 500 shoppers will get an Angry Bird card game worth RM20.90.
