FRIM

Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) is having an open day on 6 June 2015, in conjunction with World Environment Day and FRIM’s 30th anniversary celebration. Come and bring your kids for a line-up of fun activities, games and visits. Besides that, this is also a good opportunity to educate both parents and children on the importance of the protection of FRIM’s status as a national heritage.

Parents and children stand a chance to participate in some of the basic research activities, besides visiting various biotechnology laboratories where they usually conduct their research. Aside from that, you will also get to visit the National Herbarium at FRIM that houses 350,000 plant specimens. For those who are into herbal products, you have all the more reasons to go now as various herbal and ornamental plants and will be on sale during the open day.

Worried that these activities may sound too dry for your children? Don’t be – there are more activities which both you and your children can enjoy, including face painting and Zumba. Other than that, your kids can also unleash their inner artist by joining colouring and collage contests while you unleash your inner athlete by participating in forest bowling, slow bicycle race or even cycling forest hunt.
