Fun, Free Events For Kids at The George Town Literary Festival

2

Kids are constantly being encouraged to read, draw and be creative; it’s a good way to keep busy and a fun way to learn new things. That’s probably why the good folks at George Town Literary Festival (GTLF) have planned a few exciting events just for pint-sized people.

The festival is stretched over three days (28 to 30 November) at The Whiteaways Arcade in Penang and there are free, fun activities for kids and parents to enjoy under George Town Junior, including:

29 November, Saturday

Children’s Storytelling
11am – 12pm, Gallery 1, Whiteaways
Where kids use their imaginations to create stories. Suitable for kids between the age of 6 to 10.

Creative Games with Borders
2pm – 5pm, Gallery 1, Whiteaways
Presented by Borders Malaysia; test your mind by solving puzzles and creating anything you can think of using KEVA planks.

30 November, Sunday

Drawing Stories with Arif Rafhan Othman
10.30am – 11.30am, Gallery 1, Whiteaways

Creative Games with Borders
2pm – 5pm, Gallery 1, Whiteaways
Presented by Borders Malaysia; test your mind by solving puzzles and creating anything you can think of using KEVA planks.

Graphic novel illustrator, Arif Rafhan Othman, will teach kids how to bring their stories to life through pictures. It’s suitable for kids about the age of 12, but if your child has a passion for drawing and comics, take them! Seats are limited, so be there early to avoid being disappointed.

GTLF is returning for its 3rd year, playing host to some of the finest writers, poets, and idea generators. Want to know more? Visit their event page or their Facebook account. Also note that children below the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult during the festival.
