Petrosains After Hours: Miniature Little Book Workshop
Samsiah Jendol or Kak Syam is a book binder and crafter. At her workshop at Petrosains the participants will learn to stitch a miniature book with a genuine leather cover. More info and registration details here.

Nate the Great & the Wandering Word
An event based on a kids’ detective story, with clue and word hunting with storytelling. The winner will get a book prize.

Opera: Hansel & Gretel
Presented by Kuala Lumpur City Opera, Hansel and Gretel is a full-length opera in 3 acts and is sung in English with Chinese subtitles. It tells the story of two mischievous children who get to meet magical creatures and get turned into gingerbread. Age limit is 6 years, except the Family Fun Day – that has no age limit – but kids aged 2 and above need a ticket. Purchase tickets here.

Young Entomologist
Young Entomologists will spend a morning in the world of insects. The kids will learn about insects from A to Z, catch and release insects and learn how to identify and classify insects by looking at their external characteristics. For kids aged 5-12. Full details here.

Positive Parenting: ‘Parenting For Success’ Expert Talk
This is first in the series of Positive Parenting talks. Experts will talk about detecting and addressing learning about in children, and on EQ and its importance to your child’s future. For more info click here.Â

Musical: Into the woods
Into the Woods is a musical that intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales. The story follows a childless baker and his wife on their quest to begin a family. The audience will meet a witch who has placed a curse on them as well as other familiar characters from fairy tales such as Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood.

Ilham Gallery’s art discovery tourÂ
The Art Discovery Tours for young visitors are a great way to introduce kids to art. The gallery also runs workshops for kids in July. More information on the tours can be found here.

Writing competitions at the Storybook

Backyard Birding
Learn more about our feathered friends with the help of a bird expert from MNS Selangor Branch Bird Group. Informative and interactive activities like birdwatching, bird identification and sketching, bird feeders making and bird origami. Suitable for kids aged 5-12. Full event info here.

Events at the Mari House
Fun Play Farming is a morning full of gardening for the little ones, followed by a lunch. The afternoon High Tea in Garden is a relaxed affair in the garden with nibbles and an activity for the kids. Both sessions are happening on all July weekends. Bookings required! See all events here.
iTrainKids Free Trial Day
If you want to introduce your children to coding, or see if they take to it, you can sign them up for this free coding trial class at the iTrain hub. With introductions to coding your own role-playing game to coding a 2D videogame, this could spark their interest in coding. Great for kids from ages 8-14. More info here.

The Amazing Social Race
For families, teens and kids who want to challenge their physical and mental prowess. This race aims to promote health and active lifestyles, and also raise funds for three children’s homes – Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home, Hiichiikok Home for Children Care and Pusat Jagaan Suci Rohani, Bandar Utama. Relax & Heal : Sleep Yoga for Ladies
