HANDS International Drumming Festival 2018

The 5th HANDS International Drumming Festival, Kaleidoscope 5, brings an ensemble of drummers, percussionists, musicians and artists to KL. The international performances range from traditional to modern and are suitable for older kids. More info here.

Book launch: By the River of Borneo

A book launch and a morning of activities to celebrate the wildlife of Sabah. “By the River of Borneo” is a children’s book that explores the beauty of the rainforest and Kadazan-Dusun culture. Join the author for a storytelling, animal art activities, rainforest carnival games, a sing-along, a photo booth, and more! Event info here.

Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival

Happening at the Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam, the Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival (SIIAF) is a great chance to discover more about Malaysia’s indigenous. The two-day festival offers cultural performances along with samples of traditional cuisines of Peninsular and East Malaysia. Event details here.

Children Business Fair

Support young entrepreneurs at this bazaar! Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at the one-day marketplace. More info here.

Ellie & The Forbidden Fruit by Tunas Tari

A dance drama production for children with a cast of 43 children as young as 4 years. The production includes a variety of dances including traditional, court and creative dances such as Dendang Inang, Ikan Kekek, Joget, Gah Si Jah, Orak Boyak and Layang Ketitir. The 60-minute performance showcases eleven dance segments led by an elephant called Ellie.

Unbeatable K5 Kids Percussion Workshop by Ben Walsh (Australia)

Part of the International Drumming Festival, this workshop is an opportunity for kids aged 8-12 years to try out drumming. Register here.

Merdeka playtime at 1 Mont Kiara

Storytelling and Sensory Play with Julia Donaldson’s Books

Nutcracker

The classic ballet by Tchaikovsky is a story of Clara’s Christmas Eve and a special present, a beautiful wooden doll. A young girl’s enchanted present leads her on a wonderful Christmas adventure.

World Oceans Day at Publika

MNS Selangor Branch Marine Group and Lions Club/Leos Club bring the ocean to Kuala Lumpur for a weekend! There will be workshops, talks, face painting, exhibits, games, selfies to take and things to buy!

Swiss Dream Circus 2018

Swiss Dream Circus returns to Desa Park City with new performances. The new location is across Plaza Arkadia. Note that the tent has air-conditioning, making sure you are comfortable even in the afternoon shows!

Young Botanist

Creative Kids Market

Wondermilk’s Creative Kids Market is back this August with a little twist – a Kids Art Show! Little Yayoi Kusamas, Warhols and Picassos can sell their paintings, drawings or any creative art work!

Yakult Fiesta 2018

Cosplay is the theme of the Yakult Fiesta 2018 is a. Dress up as your favourite character and join the festival at Yakult factory in Seremban. The factory is open to visitors during the day.

Events at the Mari House

Fun Play Farming is a morning full of gardening for the little ones, followed by a lunch. The afternoon High Tea in Garden is a relaxed affair in the garden with nibbles and an activity for the kids. Both sessions are happening on all July weekends. Bookings required!
