This festive season is one of our all time faves. Frostily decked malls, plazas and homes – Yes, it is that time of the year again!
If you and your toddler are looking for the ultimate Christmas experience, be sure to drop by Mid Valley Megamall and check out what their ‘Christmas Surprise’ has in store for you. This year, they’ve worked with author Quek Sue Yian and illustrator Charis Loke from MagicBird Publishing to produce their own Christmas storybook. Entitled A Christmas Surprise, it depicts the magical journey of a little girl in search of the best surprise for her mother; and her world of imagination that has been brought to life at Mid Valley Megamall. What you’ll find is a magical place where you and your family will get to experience special activities, such as meeting Santa Claus in his mesmerising castle and taking a ride on a whimsical carousel.
Alongside their many, many giveaways from balloons to cotton candy, there are character walkabouts, Christmas dance performances, caroling, storytelling, Santa meet and greet, and ‘snowtime’.
While you’re there, help spread the joy of giving through the mall’s “Give A Book of Knowledge” charity drive by purchasing a copy of A Christmas Surprise or any storybook from MagicBird Publishing. Proceeds from the sales of story books will go to Science of Life Studies to build libraries for the underprivileged. MasterCard® Cardholders can purchase the storybook at only RM25 per book, and MasterCard® will also donate one additional book on top of Magicbird’s donation.
On top of that, MagicBird Publishing is organising its One for One Program, where a book will be donated to those in need when you purchase a storybook for RM30.
There are a host of entertaining activities for parents and older kids too. Gift hunting is made easy with a wide selection of stalls including Crabtree & Evelyn, Kiehl’s, L’Occitane, The Body Shop, VHOBBY, Kipling, Muji and MPH Bookstores. For crafty folks, there are workshops such as card making, pastry decorating, soap making and flower arrangements happening throughout the festive season. Just spend RM50 in a single receipt (or just flash your HSBC credit card) to enroll two adults or children in one workshop.
