Bella host, actress and mum-to-be Elaine Daly may be in her second trimester, but she’s very much still out and about at HappiKiddo’s event recently. Elaine shares her thoughts on becoming a new mum, how she broke to the news to the family and what she’s most excited for upon her baby’s arrival.
You’re an actress and TV host. Tell us, what are you working on at the moment?
Well, I’m six and a half months pregnant so the project I’m working on is “project baby”. But I’m still hosting my show Bella and I do still host a few fashion events but I definitely had to slow down.
How did you break the news of your pregnancy to your friends and family?
I told my family and close friends in person but I also uploaded a photo of the baby’s sonogram to make an announcement to the public.
What has the experience of pregnancy been like for you so far?
The experience has been great. It all happened so fast. I got married and now I’m pregnant. Sometimes, I get really nervous thinking about childbirth and people tell you that it will be fine but no one can really prepare you for it. But it really has been a great experience every step of the way.
What is you favourite way to treat yourself while pregnant?
I go for a lot of massages. I go to my usual urut and the massages help release the water retention.
Have you been having any unusual cravings during your pregnancy?
Surprisingly, I haven’t been craving anything unusual. I do have cravings for Milo – a true Malaysian baby!
Have you thought of a name for your baby?
We’re expecting a little baby girl but we’re only revealing the name we have picked for her once she’s born.
What do you most look forward to about becoming a mother?
Wow. All I can say is I’m just excited to bring new life into the world; to nurture, teach and care for our baby girl as much I can and provide everything she may need as well as gradually learn more about motherhood in the process myself.
