It’s hard not be feel a pang of jealousy when you scroll through Darlina Roslan’s Instagram feed. She just got back from a Euro trip and the photos say it all; and not to mention, with her model height, svelte figure and fierce high fashion hair cut, no one can deny that she’s one hot momma.
After clocking out on her 9 to 5 job as the Marketing Manager for Nusa Indah Bina, she comes home to husband, Mohd Ikmal and little baby Noah. Are you ready to see what this jet-setter mom can’t (and can) live without?
Most Used:
- Skiphop Pronto! Changing Station by Jonathan Adler – Going out with Noah is a breeze since I can travel light. Designed by celebrated ceramic designer, Jonathan Adler, it doesn’t hurt that this diaper bag doubles up as a fashion statement piece.
- Emma Jane Nursing Bra – When it comes to buying a bra, comfort, support and shape is key. This particular bra model is leak-proof for days for when you forget your nursing pads. Word of caution: milk, perspiration and our climate don’t work well together so a pad-less bra is susceptible to get mouldy if not changed often.
- Aden & Anais Muslin Swaddle Blanket – Not only is it soft and cool to the touch, Noah sleeps better swaddled with it. It’s also perfect as a nursing cover as it’s really cool and airy.
- Cradle Spring Cot – This old school contraption was tried and tested by my parents and now I’m using it on Noah. Used with my husband’s kain pelikat, it works wonders when you want to get some work done and need the baby to nap longer.
- Philips Avent Disposable Breast Pad – I’ve tried a few different brands but this one takes the cake.
- Anakku Cloth Diaper – When I was still in confinement, we used the cloth diaper as a swaddling blanket until Noah outgrew them. He spits up a lot, so it really helps to clean the mess and protect our clothes. Now I use it as a nursing pad for when I go braless at home and during sleep time.
- Fjallraven Kanken Mini Backpack – When Noah started solids and needed more things to be added to his diaper bag, we chose this Scandinavian bag. Bonus: your baby can use it once he or she starts school.
- Mosi-Guard Natural Insect Repellent – With dengue on the rise, your baby needs all the protection he or she can get from mosquitoes.
- Euky Bear Eucalyptus Oil – I’ve been told that to reduce baby spitting, you’d need to rub eucalyptus oil on a baby’s back, chest, thighs and soles. It doesn’t work but it leaves Noah smelling great. I still apply the oil after every bath time. If you want to up the smell ante, apply together with Pigeon massage oil. Your baby, room and clothes will smell divine.
Didn’t Use Enough:
- Puj Tub – It didn’t fit well in our sinks and the sink tap was such a hazard to work with. If your baby loves soaking in water and is a natural swimmer, skip this and opt for a baby bath tub.
- Mossif3 reed diffuser insect repellent – It didn’t work for us – probably because the smell wasn’t strong enough.
- Mothercare moses basket – It was tiring and painful to bend down everytime I needed to pick him up so we ended up co-sleeping. Also, the price didn’t justify the length of time the baby can fit in it.
- MAM pacifier – The design of this pacifier didn’t work as well as other brands we tried mainly because it didn’t come with a teat cover or a ring holder.
- Ergobaby Petunia Pickle Bottom baby carrier – I loved the print, design and the ergonomics but it was a quite a hassle to put on or take off especially when you’re alone. It’s also too hot to wear in our climate and my baby felt constrained in it.
