It’s an understatement to say that mothers around the world love to compare and compete. I’m sure you’ve heard of parents who have said, “My daughter is smarter than yours”.

Last year saw plenty of pregnancy trends – like Royal baby fever, ultrasound parties, and announcing pregnancy before the 12-week mark. But it’s 2014, which means new trends are upon parents-to-be.

When I walked into the Bumi Sehat Birth Center in Ubud, Bali a few years ago, I was instantly struck by its calmness and peace. Back then, birthing to me was a messy, loud and stressful affair.

The GUESS Kids Spring 2014 has us reminiscing the carefree days we used to spend by the beach as children.

If you think about it, this generation’s toddlers are going to find some way or another to get their little hands on our gadgets. So why not give them something to call their own?

Women who have higher levels of vitamin D in their bodies while they are pregnant may have babies with stronger muscles, say researchers.

The difference with this second pregnancy is that it’s still a world of new experiences, especially with migrating and becoming a stay-at-home mum with a spirited one-year-old in tow.
We always had an excuse to put it off a little more. Because, of all the things to be experienced in this adventure of being a parent, potty training was the thing I dreaded the most.

Now that your role has expanded to that of a grandmother, I’m seeing a whole new side of your love, not just for my son – but for me. Through the challenging season of being a new mum, you were a constant source of clarity and calm.

A surgery is still a surgery and my heart wasn’t ready for something like this. I remember just wanting to leave the doctor’s office so that I could cry.
It is our son’s first Christmas and he will not be getting any presents. The decision not to give him any gifts is based on wanting to be intentional about how we celebrate not just the holidays, but things like Birthdays too.

The last time Vans and Yo Gabba Gabba! collaborated, it caused a lot of young adults such as myself to squeal with delight because they were mega cute. This year, however, the kids are getting all the fun!

My baby turns five months this Christmas and all I really want for Christmas is to sleep-in and lounge around all day. But let’s face it, that won’t be happening anytime soon, so here’s my wish list this Christmas.

Exclusive breastfeeding was tiring work around the clock. There wasn’t a need to feel guilty about sleeping every afternoon, holiday or not. Sleeping was what I needed in order to do a proper job as a breastfeeding mum.

This Season, GUESS Kids offers a wide variety of stylishly cute get-ups to keep your little tykes warm and toasty. We wish we had these stylish pieces when we were growing up!

What exactly is an “enrichment mall”, you ask? It’s a place where urban mothers shop and pamper themselves while their children learn and have fun – all under one roof.

We were searching for takers of these expiring flight vouchers fittingly creased in my seasoned organiser when I suddenly realised who these possible takers just might be – us.
