Be Green Bebe is the brainchild of Caryn Lim, who left her full-time job in finance to pursue something different. Having spent time looking for clothes and accessories for her goddaughter, Caryn stumbled upon organic childrenswear and saw a future in that. “I found that there’s a lack of chic and organic childrenswear easily available to all in one place,” she says, prompting her to search for pieces that are both sustainable, stylish and, most importantly, comfortable.
Now in its third month of operations, Be Green Bebe has received great response so far from young mothers who are increasingly aware of organic products. Some might ask: why organic? “It is extremely soft, breathable and hypoallergenic,” Caryn explains. Organic cotton also has a low impact on the environment, is toxic-free and durable.
Caryn carefully handpicks pieces from the US, Europe and Australia, proving that organic clothing isn’t always bland and boring. With brands such as Aravore, Babysoy, Go Gently Baby, Indikidual, La Queue du Chat, Mini Rodini, Red Urchin, Rosy Cheek Cosy, Piccalilly and Purebaby, you’ll find well-designed clothes that have fresh and fun prints. Be Green Bebe also carries a range of eco-friendly accessories for babies and children, including swaddles, baby blankets, backpacks and lunch boxes.
“Kate Quinn Organics kimono style onesies are great as they are so easy to slip on and come in eye-catching designs,” Caryn says, listing down her favourite items on Be Green Bebe. “I also love the unisex Indikidual leggings and the Indian-inspired Purebaby onesie and blouse.”
While Caryn doesn’t have any plans to open a physical store anytime soon, she hopes to grow Be Green Bebe into an iconic lifestyle brand and become Asia’s go-to place for organic clothing and accessories.
