Ibu Charity Jumble Sale
Ibu, a parent resource group and also a non-profit organisation will be organising a Charity Jumble Sale this weekend. Proceeds of the sale will go towards three charities, namely Kebajikan Ephratha Rawang, eHomemakers and Tanma. Help raise money, purchase some preloved items and let your children have fun with the art & craft activities on site!

The Listener – MPO’s Family Fun Day
The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) begins its 2017/2018 season this month with a line-up kid-friendly shows. The first, The Listener, will be one to laugh with the family – it features an orchestra complicated by the unexpected participation of a bugle-playing mime and a tap dancing ballerina.

The Great British Circus
If you haven’t been yet, you still have time to catch the Great British Circus as they will still be in town until Sunday, the 17th of September. The two-hour show is sure to keep you and your little ones entertained with clowns, acrobats, the flying trapeze, the wheel of death and the globe of death.

Petrosains Science Festival 2017
This September, Petrosains invites you to discover how you can live more sustainably and care for our planet at the Petrosains Science Festival 2017.  Join in the wide range of interesting activities in store, such as the Hanging Garden, Running Wheel and 3D Hunt. There will also be fun workshops – the Popsicle Drone, Dream Lamp, Create Your Own Perfume and Sew Sprouts. Take a stroll through the exhibition (Tiny Home) or walkabout with Flybot or Ejen Ali. There will even be some talks by Dr Rajiv Bhanot and Claire Sancelot on Sustainable Living.

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (DPAC – Damansara Performance Arts Centre)
Presented by Sifu Productions, this family musical features the much-loved characters from the all-time favourite Peanuts comic strip series – Snoopy, Lucy, Schroeder, Linus, Sally Brown and of course Charlie Brown himself. With its catchy musical tunes and larger than life characters, this musical has won multiple awards for its off and on Broadway performances, including a Grammy!

Short and Sweet Malaysia 2017 – KLPAC
The Short and Sweet Malaysia 2017 Festival celebrates its 10th year with 10 weeks of 10-minute theatre! The festival has an age restriction of 4 years and above, but these performances are great for children – its shows are 10 minute or less which make them perfect for fidgeting young ones. One can watch 10 to 12 different new works in a single night, and there are different categories for the whole family – from comedy to musicals, and dance to theatre. There is a new category for dancers age 16 and below in S+S Junior Dance on the 23rd and 24th of September. Give your kids a taste of the arts in a bite-sized way that will suit their short attention spans!

Express Sewing Workshop –Â Kids Classes

A Peek Into Your Child’s Mind Family Workshop Series
An entire day filled with meaningful talks and activities for the modern family, ‘A Peek Into Your Child’s Mind’ aims to help build a healthy support system for children. There will be parenting workshops such as ‘It is Okay to ask for Help!’, ‘Speaking Your Child’s Love Language’ and ‘When Parents Fight, Children Suffer’. Letter’s End
For a fantastical world of magic and illusion, bring your children to see award-nominated Letter’s End. Featuring acclaimed theatre clown, Wolfe Bowart, the show will be a mix of physical comedy, shadow puppetry  and interactive film. Bowart first delighted audiences with the beautiful LaLaLuna at last year’s KL International Arts Festival, and this year Letter’s End is expected to enthral young and old again.

The Final Malaysia Grand Prix –Â 2017 Formula 1
Ah, what a run we have had. The great Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix in October will be the very last one held in our country. Other than the usual race-related excitement, there will be many family-friendly activities leading up to the races. Bring the kids so they can partake in the fun events, and take a lot of photos with and for them! It will be great for them to know that they attended a Grand Prix race in their own country, something quite special no matter how you look at it. Tickets for children aged 12 and below are available at 50% off the corresponding adult ticket prices, while children below 7 years old may enter for free, but they will not be allocated a seat without a ticket.

Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation Charity Food and Funfair
Have fun with your children and raise funds for a good cause at this event organised by the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation. There will be carnival-like games, face painting, sand art, as well as plenty of food and performances. The Funfair will raise much needed funds for the operation and maintenance of the foundation’s centre.

Slide The City KL
Described as a slip-and-slide urban block party featuring a gigantic vinyl slide, Slide The City KL will see cool weekends at Setia City. There will also be music and entertainment, food trucks, carnival games, a handmade beach and night performances. There is an age limit for the slide – all sliders must be 7 years old and above or at least 110 cm tall. If that makes you eligible, bring your friends, water buckets and floaties for a day of soaking fun.

Swiss Dream Circus
The Big Top is coming back to Malaysia with a brand new show to thrill children and adults alike. The Swiss Dream Circus promises performers from around the world famous for their acrobatics and deft-defying talents, such as Andrii Maslov on the free ladder, Evgeny Slepukhin on the slack wire and Anastasiia on the aerial pole.
