October is here! Check out our list below for family activities happening around Klang Valley this month.

1. BFM Health and Living Jr.

Kids today are exposed to a lot of challenges due to technology, peer pressure and family issues. Meanwhile, parents are trying to keep children safe and healthy, without being over-protective. 2. Let’s Talk About Sex: Nothing to Haid

Makchic, together with SPOT, is organising a Mother-Daughter workshop to get the conversation on sexual education started.
The objective of the workshop is to create a safe, non-judgemental place to discuss the intimate details of human sexuality, to encourage a healthy discourse about it, and to empower girls with the right knowledge. This is so she can learn to care for herself, her future, and her relationships, when she is ready. Click here for more info.

3. The Bear by Raymond Briggs, Theatre for Children

Based on the well-loved book by Raymond Briggs, The Bear is a story of Tilly and an enormous white bear that climbed into her room one night. Join them on a wild and magical adventure with dazzling puppetry, catchy music and a whole lot of laughs. For more info, click here.

4. Festival Sastera Kanak-Kanak 2019: Meet and Greet Didie & Friends

The National Library will be organising a Children Literature Festival in conjunction with UNESCO naming Kuala Lumpur as the World Book Capital for 2020.  There will be plenty of fun activities such as workshops on storytelling, origami and comic drawing and of course a special performance by Didie & Friends! 5. A Viennese Afternoon Concert

Inspired by the concerts held in Vienna, the Selangor Symphony Orchestra‘s 20-piece string section will be performing music from The Waltz King, Johann Strauss Jr. Directed by Eugene Pook with guest conductor, Andrew Filmer, the concert will also feature renowned oboist, Joost Flach. He will be performing the beautiful and gentle Oboe Concerto in D minor, Op.9 No.2 by Tomaso Albinoni.

6. FREE Training on CPR for Adults, Children and Babies

7. The Sleeping Beauty by St. Petersburg Theatre

The world-renowned St. Petersburg Theatre Russian Ballet is in Kuala Lumpur! Bringing you a treasured work of Russian ballet that was created 129 years ago, The Sleeping Beauty is touted as the “encyclopedia of classical dance.” Click here for tickets.

8. Make your own Dreamcatcher with The Weekend Workshop

9. Young Entomologist Programme

Learn about insects the role they play in our environment. Kids will get to gently catch the insects, learn how to identify them and observe their behaviors. You might find a budding entomologist in your child! Click here to register.

10. Taman Tugu Eco Day

Join in the various activities from guided trail walks, bouncing castles, special performances and many more. There will also be information booths by various NGOs and a marketplace, all in the midst of an urban forest.

11. Pasar Bellas: A community market by women for all

A carefully curated marketplace of clothes, cosmetics and children items by ‘momprenuers’, and pre-loved wares by influencer mums. There will also be a zero-waste talk on beauty, fashion and shopping.

12. Fantastic October: Mystic Arts & Magic

Fantastic October is a 3-weeks Magical Halloween festival. With themes such as Creepy Crawly, Science Workshop and Farm in the City, there will be plenty of activities such as a soap-making workshop, a petting zoo and an escape room.

13. Art-Inspired Coding Projects for Kids in collaboration with CodeJuniors

These unique and specially designed art-inspired coding projects for kids are done in collaboration with CodeJuniors. Through these innovative courses that include programmable robotics and logic promoting games and activities, kids will not only learn about art but also critical and creative thinking, problem-solving skills and how to be self-sufficient learners. 14. Deepavali Symbols, Myths and Legends: Interactive Art with Paper Circuits

15. Halloween Science Workshop
