Congratulations! You’re pregnant. Right now your 4-week old baby is the size of a poppy seed, weighing around 1.1 grams (0.0001 kg).
At this stage, your baby is essentially a ball of cells that will start to separate to form your baby (the embryo) and the placenta (amniotic sac, amniotic fluid and the yolk sac) The embryotic cells will also divide to form your baby’s internal organs and skin. Because of this, your baby is particularly vulnerable to anything that might interfere with normal development, so it is important to take good care of yourself.

Common Symptoms
[common-symptoms]
Just as how your baby begins its magical transformation into a complex embryo, your body will be undergoing changes too. Some of the most common symptoms you will start exhibiting are:
- Breast Tenderness
- Bloating & Cramping
- Mood Swings
- Light pink, red or brown spotting
Many of these symptoms are similar to premenstrual symptoms. Your body is producing more oestrogen and progesterone hormones as it gears up to have a baby. Get ready for more growth spurts!
