Pregnancy Calendar: Week 29

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds about the size of a peanut butter squash. It’s a little over 15 inches long from head to heel.

Your baby’s muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and its head is growing bigger to make room for brain development. To meet your baby’s increasing nutritional demands, you’ll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. Because your baby’s bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk.

  • Watch your weight, keep your blood flowing and avoid heavy lifting.
  • Stock up on essentials you’ll need when baby comes home.
  • Learn infant CPR to make sure you’re ready for any emergency once your baby arrives.

Don’t forget to bring to the hospital these fun items that, while not essential, can definitely help you through the big event: tennis ball for lower back pain or leg cramps; massage oil; iPod and headphones; and an extra pillow.
