Pregnancy Calendar: Week 23

By this week, your baby’s sense of movement is quite well developed. Your baby can feel you move and dance, so turn on the radio and sway away to the music. At 11 inches long and still weighing roughly a pound, your baby is about the size of a large mango.

Beginning of this week, be prepared to feel your baby (and yourself) grow as this is when your baby starts to fill out its frame with fat deposits. No more saggy skin for baby! By the end of the month, your baby would have approximately doubled in weight. The organs and bones start to take shape, and will begin to be clearly visible through its skin, which now takes on a reddish hue from the veins and arteries that are developing beneath it. This transparency will soon become less and less as the fat deposits settle in.

To-Do List

  • Do yoga! The gentle stretches help to reduce anxiety.
  • Sit with your eyes closed and imagine a beautiful and peaceful scenery. Light a candle or some incense and be in the present.

You don’t have to settle for beige grandmother flats — choose to rock it up instead. Buy ballet flats in leather in vibrant colours. Wedges are a more supportive option if you are really missing your fave heels!
