1. Pet Fiesta 2019

If you love pets, head over to Pet Fiesta 2019! Carrying the theme, ‘Colour Play’ this year, the exhibition hall is expected to look bright and colourful for its visitors. From pet rabbits, cats, dogs, to hamsters, this fun-filled event is a sure hit with the family.

2. Disney On Ice: Mickey’s Super Celebration

To commemorate 90 years of spectacular Disney moments, Disney On Ice presents an original performance featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. The characters are also supported by some of Disney’s inspirational princesses such as Moana, Princess Jasmine, Cinderella, and the royal sisters of Arendelle (Anna and Elsa). Definitely a show not to be missed!

3. Chuck Chicken Junior Warriors 2019

Calling all warriors! The most exciting competition kicks off in Malaysia (qualifying rounds) this April 6 and 7. The age category varies for the competition starting from Group Under 6 to Group Under 12. For more information, go here.

Date: 2nd Qualification round begins 6 April (Saturday) and 7 April (Sunday) and ticket sales end on 3 April (Wednesday)

4. Baby Shark Soap Making Workshop

Learn how to make soap and enjoy an afternoon of bubbly fun! This activity is suitable for children aged 4 to 6 and prior booking for a slot is required, call Phoebe, +6016 5211152 for arrangements.

5. Utopia by Smart Kids Asia

Jump for joy at the first and biggest inflatable play park in Malaysia. Look out for colourful balloon installations, giant slides, VR games, human-wearable zorb balls, and colouring contests too!

6. Storytelling: Mother Goose’s Tales

Children will enjoy listening to this storytelling session as the great tales of Charles Perrault’s Mother Goose’s Tales like Little Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots comes to life. Family favourite; Mother Goose rhymes such as Humpty Dumpty, Mary’s Little Lamb and The Black Sheep’s Wool will also be read. This session is good for kids ages 3 to 6 and registration is required.

7. Storytelling: James and The Giant Peach

A Roald Dahl story is read, coupled with a science activity (parachute-making and fight experiments) conducted by the instructors of Opstopus. Suitable for kids aged 6 to 11.

8. Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2019

Grab your kids and shop for great titles at a bargain!

9. Little Swappies 2.0 at Sampah, Menyampah and Friends’ EARTH Weekend

Happening at Sampah, Menyampah and Friends’ EARTH Weekend, is Little Swappies 2.0! It’s basically a swap event whereby children aged 1 to 12 get to swap their clothing with others. 10. DPULZE International Rabbit and Cavy Show 2019

Meet your furry friends; the rabbits! An indoor rabbit petting zoo and small animal display will be happening at DPULZE Shopping over a weekend. There will also be an International Rabbit and Cavy Show judged by international judges namely Melissa Mangee (USA) and Arie Wardhani (Indonesia). Click here for more info.

11. Sayur In The City: School Holiday Programme April 2019

Expose your child to the wonderful world of nature and animals! Don’t let living in the city and the normalities of living in an urban setting deter your children from connecting with nature.

The outdoor activities are designed to hone a child’s creativity through learning how to grow food and more. Your child will not only learn how to grow their food, but also learn how to care for their bodies and eat healthily, be independent by prepping their own fresh lunch daily, as well as have a better sense of appreciation for nature. 12. The Lost Egg Hunt (2D1N Camping Trip)

Celebrate Easter with a fun-filled camping trip for the family. Parents and children will learn to work together in teams as they hunt for the ‘lost egg’! It’s also a great way to learn basic outdoor skills like pitching your own tent, being responsible during night walks, and cultivate the love for stargazing.

Date and time: 20 April (Saturday) until 21 April (Sunday), check-in at 1.30 p.m. on 20 April (Saturday) and check-out at noon on 21 April (Sunday).

13. Activities at ILHAM Gallery in April

Art Discovery Tour

On an Art Discovery Tour, children will get to know the current exhibition at ILHAM gallery through a guided tour and a hands-on art session. Suitable for children aged 5 to 12 (accompanied by a parent), mature 4-year olds who have attended previous tours/programmes can be considered. What Lies Above The Sky? (Storytelling and Mixed-Media Galaxy Inspired Painting)

Conducted by award-winning author-illustrator-storyteller, Nor Azhar Ishak is a children’s storytelling session followed by a mixed-media painting activity where children will create their own original artwork inspired by the galaxy. This activity is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 (accompanied by a parent).

DIY T- Shirt Iron-On Workshop

Make your own iron-on t-shirts and learn about heat transfers in printing. This activity is suitable for children aged 4 to 12 (children below 9 years must be accompanied by a parent).

Making Modern Art with Magnets

Create magnets inspired by modern art! This activity is suitable for children aged 3 to 5 (accompanied by a parent).

3D Glasses Workshop

Discover the use of colours, colour filters, and make your own 3D glasses. This activity is suitable for children aged 4 to 12 (children below 9 years must be accompanied by a parent).

14. Code Juniors Activities

Explorer Juniors Coding Camp

Here’s a chance for children aged 9 to 15 to learn the basics of coding/computer programming. Students will get to explore game development with Scratch programming, program a pocket-sized Micro:bit and build mobile apps using App Inventor. The camp is over a duration of 3 days and you can register here.

Little Juniors Coding Camp

A learning camp for the younger kiddos, aged 5 to 8. The camp introduces the concept that technology is a creator’s tool by using easy-to-learn, engaging, and educational technology kits and visual programming courses. Combo Scratch 3.0 and Micro:bit Holiday Camp

Here’s a creative camp for children aged 6 to 10! They can learn to code with exciting challenges as well as bring their own personality to their creations. Phyton Camp

Phyton is an ideal language to have in any programmer’s stack. It is used for everything from web development to software development and even scientific applications. Although this course is for beginners aged 10 to 15, typing skills are required as a prerequisite. Register here.

Special Coding Events

Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt at Arkadia, Desa Parkcity. Join the fun and go on a coding mission to hunt for all the Easter eggs! The hunt is suitable for children aged 5 to 8.

15. Backyard Birding

This activity introduces its participants to the beauty and fascinating ways of bird watching. Led by an expert from the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), the activity will teach participants how to use binoculars the proper way and identify various types of bird species by using the field guide. This activity is suitable for children aged 5 and up (accompanied by a parent). More info here.

16. Chemical Engineering @ EFK Center, Sri Hartamas

Dive into the world of chemical reactions! Discover how certain reactions can create some really cool and mysterious elements during the program. The classes will introduce young engineers to fundamental concepts of solids, liquids, and solutions.

17. Robotics 101 @ Me.reka, Publika Shopping Gallery

Students aged 4 to 14 get to work in teams to plan, build, test, and modify their own robotic creations! LEGO EV3 or LEGO Education WeDo is used to help creative minds put mathematical concepts to the test as they develop better knowledge robotics, computer programming and engineering principles along the way.

18. Project Haans for Autism Awareness 2019

This event is organised by a Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) student together with Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with Autism Awareness Month in April. It will consist of forums, a sensory demonstration by Occupational Therapists and a bazaar by Autism Café Project Malaysia.
