There are many ways to capture and physically frame all those Instagram-worthy happy moments with your child. We’ve come across a few stores that sell plain framed baby and toddler silhouettes for home decor, and it got us thinking: why not do it yourself? It would be more personal, cheaper, and you would have more control over how it looks. So here are five easy steps to turning the favourite picture of your tyke into a silhouette – at minimal cost!
Find an existing image or capture a new image of your little one and make sure you have a clear outline of him or her.

Open image with Adobe Photoshop and select your child from the photo using the ‘Quick Select Tool’.
Open a new blank file on Photoshop according to the size of your selected frame (we chose A4) and using the ‘Move Tool’, drag the image of your child onto the new blank file.
Next, on the top toolbar, click ‘Layer’, ‘Layer Style’, ‘Color Overlay’ and select Black. Your image will instantly turn to the color selected.
Add in your text, print and frame it!
It’s really that simple. All you need is a bit of time and patience. Try it out for yourself!
